CM11's ??
Hi Folks,
Recently there was a post about buying powerline interfaces and the outrageous prices
they're asking on ebay for the CM11...
Well, I just scored a CK11 'package' for $11.50 on ebay !!
I'm suspecting that there are hundreds if not thousands of these old original CM11
'starter packs' still out there, new in box...
In fact, I just found one of the original (circa 1995) IBM Home Director packages
on ebay, and yet another of the CK11 packs.
Of course they are getting scarce, and the price will be going up, but I don't think
it's too late !
We scourged these little things for years, but I have 3 of them regularly working
in my system, and they continue to be the most reliable for powerline control.
You don't have to send them in every year for 'upgrade to the firmware', and once they've
gotten beyond the period of 'infant mortality', they just work and work.
So if you're happy with your current system, and expect to keep it running until YOU can't,
I suggest that you put a couple of them in your spares locker.
For longevity and reliability, there's NOTHING that can compare.
I don't care what anyone says about cheap X10 devices...
Of course I wish that the old LynX products were still available.
( for which I recently bought a spare TW523 for $5 )
