Hi Folks,_______________________________________________
Well I've been doing tests of the LynX.isf compile, and I'm still stumped.
The 'old' compile of the LynX seems to work on all platforms other than the OSX 10.6.2 and later (haven't tried 10.6.1 etc)
On the 10.6.2 mac, even the old LynX.isf is wobbly. On the first attempt to connect after a restart of XTension,it almost never connects correctly, in that it doesn't recognize the version of the LynX and thus can'tdo the setup it needs for each different one.
If I disable/re-enable the LynX.isf, it picks up the right version almost always. But thereafter, I can only get a command out once in a blue moon. The LynX always tells me that there is an error in the command…
May 16, 2010 11:30:59 AM Interface error: (Bad command received from Mac)
But the LynX does seem to be able to send to XTension :
May 16, 2010 11:18:08 AM received OFF for address I9 from LynX PortMay 16, 2010 11:18:08 AM received OFF for address I3 from PlinkCUMay 16, 2010 11:19:01 AM received ON for address I9 from LynX PortMay 16, 2010 11:19:01 AM received ON for address I3 from PlinkCU
Some of you have reported that you get the 'screwey message from the LynX'…I haven't seen this at all.
I found that there is a NEW Keyspan driver for OSX 10.6.x, that says that it will NOTwork with OS 10.5 and earlier, and that the earlier drivers will not work with 10.6.x
I installed the 10.6 driver, but to no avail, it didn't change the problem even after a rebootwhich Keyspan suggests.
In debug mode, I display what I think I'm sending to the LynX/USB/Serial, and it is exactlywhat should be sent. But obviously something EXTRA is being sent, OR what I think isbeing sent is getting corrupted when I do the 'write' to that port.
As a further test, I have tried the CM11, using both the old compile and the new, and it worksjust fine on the same Keyspan USA19 adaptor. No anomalies at all.
So what I would ask is that all of you who have the LynX :
Please let me know :
Which LynX ?Which serial/USB adaptor ?Which Mac OS ?and of course whether you're having any problems.
AND… those of you who have the LynX, and it is working for you….DON'T change anything !!:)michael
