I got one of these to see if I could use it for my solar hot water
panels.

X4X can see it fine and that is not an issue.

The issue is that the sensor unit turns off every 7 hours or so.

There is nothing in the literature to indicate that it should do this
and no one from Oregon Scientific has gotten back to me.
