Question on Migrating from Xtension Classic to OS X

Looking for some advice on migrating Xtension from OS 9 to OS X. I'm
thinking of purchasing an upgrade of my OS 9 version of Xtension to
the latest for OS X. I'm currently running Xtension version 3.2.4 on
OS 9 on a G4 with a Keyspan SX Pro and a CM11a.

I would like to run the latest version of Xtension on OS X v10.5.8 on
a G5 Dual 2 GHz with 3 GB of RAM with the main motivation of also
purchasing X2Web to be able to control/monitor my X10 devices over the
web.

Unfortunately, the SX Pro PCI card is 5V only and the G5 I have is PCI-
X and accepts 3V cards ONLY. So, the SX Pro has to go away. I have a
PL2303 Prolific USB to Serial adapter that works on OS X. So, I am
assuming I can connect the CM11a to the PL2303 and install Xtension
and import my old database (in compatibility mode) and start where I
left off from OS 9?

How reliable is the PL2303 with the CM11a?

What else do I need to keep in mind? I have a two way thermostat that
I control with X10 that I modified the attachment script to support "3
degrees of swing". Can I just simply port this over with much work?

Thanks,

Steve
