Looking for some better alternatives to X10, here is what I found:

It is made by a company in Holland. The individual modules are
measuring the watt consumption of what is connected to them, they talk
together through a modified zigbee protocol, and the modules can be
turned off/on with feedback. Unfortunately the control software is PC
only, otherwise I would have bought some !
