I used the same hack I tryed on a DS10a on the motion sensor and got a bit better response, but doubt if 300 yards. You might try a full wavelength antenna, but if I understand correctly that would need a grounded "reflector" at some specific distance from the antenna. Didn't bother researching that, as it seemed more trouble than it was worth. You can check out some of my antenna mods at http://web.me.com/dougyk.
