That's an idea. I had not thought of increasing the catch area. If I increase by 4 then I assume I am in the range of .01 in. equivalent size tip bucket. I am not sure of my luck in finding a big funnel or a plastic mixing bowl (cut out the bottom) to the required dimensions to fasten on top of the rain gauge. Something to consider though. Thanks.
