XTension Discussion
Barometric Readings
What are most people using to get atmos. pressure into their weather
reading mix? Obviously the answer is probably a barometer but since
my pressure reading is contained within the readout device and not
transmitted (at least it is not showing up in the Master List that I
can tell). XTension is not going to receive it unless there is a
hidden feature or Easter Egg that I haven't found. Are most folks
just extracting readings from the closest commercial location by
pulling data off a web page or not even bothering?

Update on my rain gauge from earlier in the week: my new rain gauge
is totally hosed (Ore. Scientific). I have taken out the batteries
and connected a DS10A across the mag. switch. It works but I am not a
fan of 1mm. readings. The teeter-totter buckets are too big. To wait
for .04 in. of rain/trip is fine if inches of rain are common. My
garden can be watered pretty well with .03 in./day but never gets
registered in XTension therefore, my water system keeps turning on
the hose when it rains. Ugh. I must make more kluges - raindrop
detector, water troughs .... Looks like a job for Weeder. The
optional approach is to modify the .04 buckets down to .01 buckets
maybe with spray foam filler carved back down to size then a thin
epoxy surface cover over the foam ....Hmmm
Thanks-
-Bob
