Sounds like you're having fun already :)
Yes it is a bit of a bother to change the addresses etc,
but I found that you really can change the battery without
changing the address...I think I remember that.
But really I changed out one 9v battery after more than one year,
and found that the volts was still almost 9 ! The volts display did
show that it was still 5v, but I thought that there was a problem
with the unit... wasn't...
Really pretty cool getting 6 temp measurements from the one device.
And could get much more.
