hi michael,
I just received my RFXcom Sensors (one 60065 and three 40065).

Problems? You betcha!

Which Sensor is which? They all look the same. I've sent a note to
RFXcom asking same.

I did this (in this order):
1) Import plugin. See new Units created with addresses of A1 - A3
and C1 - C3. Each Unit has "ON" scripts. I read the scripts. They
don't make sense...yet. Other Units are also created. They have no
addresses or scripts. "High/Low Humid Today, High/Low Temp Today".

2) connect battery to one of the Sensors. Red LED on Sensor
flashes. I see reports in the XTension log:

4/5/08 5:17:39 PM received Preset Dim 0 for address A1 (W) from
wireless interface
4/5/08 5:17:39 PM received Preset Dim 0 for address A3 (W) from
wireless interface
4/5/08 5:17:39 PM received Preset Dim 0 for address A2 (W) from
wireless interface

Cool!

Um...

What do I do now?

I've read all the documentation that I could find.

michael said in this thread <http://void.nothingness.org/archives/

"instantiate"? Is zat like "constipantiate"? I looked it up:
" to represent (an abstraction) by a concrete instance". Usage:
Heroes instantiate ideals.

Okay, hero. "...you must change the address..."

I changed the address of the Sensor according to the documentation.
Now its base address is O1 - O3.

I renamed the Units to appropriate names for my system (this may be
where the wheels come off...!).

So the old Unit names were:
Test Temp
Test Humid
Test Volts

They're now:
Attic RFX Temp Sensor
Attic RFX Humidity Sensor
Attic RFX Volts Sensor

(I edited the "ON" script for "Attic RFX Humidity Sensor" and
replaced "Test Volts" with "Attic RFX Volts Sensor").
(I didn't touch the second set of Units C1 - C3...I'm saving them for
later).

Now, the log entries look like:

4/5/08 6:02:39 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Volts Sensor of
500
4/5/08 6:02:39 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Humidity Sensor
of 5
4/5/08 6:02:55 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Temp Sensor of 207
4/5/08 6:02:55 PM The temperature is 26 Centigrade
4/5/08 6:02:55 PM The temperature is 78.8 Fahrenheit
4/5/08 6:02:56 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Volts Sensor of
501
4/5/08 6:02:56 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Humidity Sensor
of 14
4/5/08 6:02:56 PM Extraordinary reading ... ignored

Woo-Hoo!

Does this mean it's working? 78.8F is awful warm...so I put the
Sensor in the fridge. and Now...:

4/5/08 6:14:04 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Temp Sensor of 155
4/5/08 6:14:04 PM The temperature is 19 Centigrade
4/5/08 6:14:04 PM The temperature is 66.2 Fahrenheit
4/5/08 6:14:04 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Humidity Sensor
of 16

....and then, a minute or so later...

4/5/08 6:15:09 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Temp Sensor of 137
4/5/08 6:15:09 PM The temperature is 17 Centigrade
4/5/08 6:15:09 PM The temperature is 62.6 Fahrenheit

and then and then...

4/5/08 6:17:18 PM Received analog value for Attic RFX Temp Sensor of 113
4/5/08 6:17:18 PM The temperature is 14 Centigrade
4/5/08 6:17:18 PM The temperature is 57.2 Fahrenheit

Well, then. I STILL can't tell which of these four Sensors is the
60065 and which are the 40065. I do know that the two Sensors I've
tested send Humidity data...I think...

Niggles:
1) Address of Sensor must be manually reset upon battery change. I
thought we were past this...sigh...
2) So far as I can tell, the 60065 and 40065 Sensors look
identical. There are no part or serial numbers on the units
themselves to distinguish them from their cousins. Damn. I thought
we were past this, too...
3) To change the address of the Sensor, you must "Insert a 3mm metal
pin into the jack connector for the additional sensor so that the
connection points 3 (GND) and 2 (DQ) are in contact with each
other". This is from the "RFXSensor.pdf" on their website.

So far, this looks good. I've run out of fully charged 9V batteries
so I can't play with the 3 remaining sensors. I'll report back later
when I get more batteries.

Zat help, michael?

Bob K.
