The Situationist List
Re: Cross ownership of media in UK
So led by the nose, the british working class, makes you wonder how they managed to hold out against the kraut. Were getting a lot of white flag jibes about the frog on satirical programmes like Not the Nine Oclock News. This is starting to get on my nerves seeing as how the British ceded sovereignty to Rupert Murdoch decades ago. The Brits quite simply didnt have the balls to join the Euro, so determined to hang on to last vestiges of imperialism, now reinforced by traipsing Bambi and Peter Pan around Canada. Then youve got fascist rightists like Brookes running around like Elizabeth the First setting the political agenda.. Maybe these crummy politicos should take a lesson out of the Arab Spring. Even today they are terrified of a fight to the finish. Everyone is hanging on to the legal parameters of this take over of B Sky B. Who needs a public enquiry? Its glaringly obvious that media ownership is out of all proportion so whats all this twaddle about plurality? Youre dead right its the subs and ops managers who are doing the grubby work. And dont tell me the Sun is squeaky clean. Its only a matter of time before the stories crawl out of the woodwork on that one. Everyone is keeping a low profile that Brookes was helming The Sun for quite some time. Blair openly flew to meet Murdoch in 97 to do a deal. Like it was Custer and Geronimo. What kind of democracy is that? So now we have the likes of Paul Merton and pals joking about the french and their white flags. If it hadnt been for the french the population of Benghazi would have been put to the sword
I was on news when the Sun was printing Gotcha! Suddenly I got a glimpse of what Kitcheners first world war recruiting effort must have been like. And theres a whole generation of European women who still havent had an apology from the corrupt politicians who dreamt that Give me a break.

Of course The YooKay is now realising the grand mistake of allowing Murdoch to continue on his reign long after Thatcher has gone, in other words Blair and New Labour kept up the parasitic behaviour despite reality of News Ltd's real intentions: complete control of miltary surveillance software and hardware in order to channel it to peoples homes as entertainment. War as entertainment. The Rebekah factor (love the spelling hello Tel Aviv) is in keeping with Ruperts game, but the real little petty criminals are the op eds and subs who carry out the grubby work.
Hoping the Herald Sun and The Australian go this way too...not to mention his flagship racist rag the NT News, or toilet paper as I call it.

What a joke! It takes a comedy actor, Hugh Grant to very eloquently spell out what no one else has the balls to do and that is state that the Met (Police), political leaderships of main parties, and Murdoch are all cosied up in bed together on Channel Four News.
Bekkah Wade, now Brookes, has something in common with Pol Pot. They both attended the Sorbonne. How she emerged from there with a firmly rightist agenda is anyones guess. While pretending to be populist she was instrumental in aggrandising and enhancing the Murdochian media empire.
For a long time she has hidden behind Ruperts apron strings. And now the chickens have come home to roost in a Britain that is paying dearly for decades of laissez faire in print monopoly issues. Its almost a matter of national pride that the Sun
newspaper can dictate virtually single handed the outcome of general elections. Its part of the British penchant for self flagellation no less.
What do you expect from a Parliament that has a Speaker who is a huge exponent of the cult of personality when this mediating post should have as a singular quality of self effacement. Obviously Sally Bercow is in charge of the cattle prod it would seem
Grant said in his address, and it was no less, that "I care about this country"
It was a brilliant piece of leadership and one of the parties should offer him a safe seat somewhere.
