There are children who are already orphaned, who were already in Haitian orphanages who are arriving in Pittsburgh, Miami and other cities.

I live in Little Haiti, which is a neighborhood of Miami, there are also many adults that are arriving here. There is also no Haitian deportation from the US of refugees or others who were here illegally or who have over stayed their VISA's any more.

I don't know about all the Gold Mining reserves that may be in Haiti but if People like Ron Paul (a US libertarian congressman from texas) had there way the US would go back to the Gold Standard which would lead to hell of a lot more strip mining for Gold every where in the world. As well, there are those who think reinvigorating or recuperating the nuclear power frenzy will be the answer to dwindling fossil fuel reserves too. No doubt Haiti would be a big dig if they have the reserves--that is if nuclear energy becomes fashionable again in the US. But you got to wonder who would get paid for all the Uranium dug up in the third world. Haiti has no export like it used to, liberal traders and corrupt Haitian leaders let outsider influence Haitian to drop import tariffs which allowed the Haitian markets be flooded with other countries subsidized commodities...causing local food production to die out

As for CUBA, Cuba is very good at aiding countries in need with doctors, nurses and medicine in times of catastrophe....and as usual US media doesn't report it....hell it might make the CUBANs look good---And we can't have that sort of image seen on TV, when all the right wingers here in the US are trying to make socialized medicine look bad. I remember when Fidel offered to send doctors to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and Rita devastated the gulf area--It was a smart move by Fidel.

There are at least 3 Canadian and US mining companies that had been
given exploration rights by the UN no less to rape Haiti of Uranium
gold and copper. Chavez's planes were first on the ground and the
hospital CNN shows on TV was built by the Cubans. 600 children have
already been "fast tracked" for adoption (read slavery, possibly
sexual) to US and French families without checking if their parents
are alive.
