RE: the left jab preceding the right jab: not dress-rehearsal, but last act
Dear All,
If there's one thing that surprises me and it is that people who are at the very least supposed progressives are arguing about religion. May I add my simple two penneth? Religion doesn't work. However much it is used as a form of social control, however much we live with illusions of our "divinity" we're all going to die. How liberating is this truth? All religions that based on patriarchy are sexually repressive, anti-women to varying degrees and to a large extent anti-life. Yes, sweeping generalisations are my forte and if you disagree with this then I think morally the onus of proof is on you to prove otherwise, because we have to live with these repressive institutions dictating our lives through a culture that allows very little satisfaction of desire for life and real freedom (unless it is the alienated forms that can be commodified). Religion disguises the REAL SUFFERING IN THE WORLD. There's a world to win!
All the best
