U..S, Tel Aviv sign deal setting Israel boundaries
4/28/2005 8:00:00 PM GMT

The Israeli government and the U.S. administration have signed a
clandestine deal aimed at setting the Jewish state's boundaries with a future Palestinian state in a way “compatible with the Israeli security
needs", HezbollahÂ’s Beirut-based Al-Manar TV channel, revealed on
Thursday.

Last year, the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon set up a special
team and assigned it to mark out the Israeli borders with the
"temporary" Palestinian sate and overseeing the construction of the
apartheid wal, according to the satellite channel.

The team accompanied the Israeli Premier during his recent visit to
Washington and held meetings with a number of U.S. officials, including the U.S. vice president Dick Cheney.

During their talks, they informed those officials of the border
delineation schemes, the channel said.

The Lebanese Hezbollah-run TV channel also stated that Sharon asked the U.S. for its financial assistance to construct the border terminals in the areas adjacent to the so-called Separation Wall, that will be
turned into "points connecting the Jewish state to the future
Palestinian state".

Israel will unilaterally unveil the border demarcation plan if the
Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, failed to reign the Palestinian
resistance fighters and maintain security in the territories, Al Manar revealed.

Meanwhile, Israeli and American parties are being lobbied for a
limitless U.S. financial support for the Israeli government to expand
settlements, the TV network concluded.

New 3,500 Israeli settlement

On the other hand, Israel is preparing to build 3500 new Israeli
settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"Those works come at a time when the Israeli housing minister, Isaac
Herzog, announced that such works in that area are not included in the Ministry's plan for 2005”, according to the Israeli daily Ha'aretz
newspaper.

"The director of the Jerusalem department at the housing ministry,
Moshe Merhavia, denied his boss's announcement and said his department never received orders to halt the works in A-1 area", the daily added.

"Ground plans for the construction of the units were deposited last
March at the ministry's Jerusalem department that kept on asking our
company to expedite the works in the area", Yuram Vogel, president of
the construction company handling the works, said.
