_I_, and other animal liberationists, certainly would have no objections
to eating such meat. On the other hand, those who are vegetarian for
'health' reasons would probably not want to eat it. But they are not animal
liberationists. The distinction is essential.
Alejandro's question is a good one, because it may clarify the debate,
which has focused too much on diet and not enough on the ethical issue of
the right treatment of non-human animals (as individuals). Antispeciesism,
i.e. animal liberation, has fundamentally little to do with diet; no more
and no less than antiracism would have had to do with personal hygiene if
refusing to use the soap made by the Nazis from the Jew's bodies had become
a point of public debate.
