I wonder if you use the same kind of attacking behavior that I see here
in your "effective organizing". The most effective organizing I have
done is based on listening to others, affirming their feelings
(regardless of
how I feel about the actions to which these feelings lead), and seeking
common ground. I have also learned that others (particularly those who do
not agree) will not listen when I am screaming, no matter how articualte
the scream (and I completely agree with you about land use).
When someone offers you solidarity and you turn it down, you
question someone's motives rather than their actions or opinions. This
mode of handling conflict plays into the hand of those who argue for
authoritarian control of conflict (courts, military and police) and the
State's monopoly of violence.
