RA-L
[liste ra-l] (en) The term 'anticapitalism'
From: Jesse Cohn [jessecohn-AT-verizon.net]
Hi Dave—
on a quick look, it seems to appear in a political context well before the 60s. I see French uses of it from the 1930s and earlier, e.g.:
Baussart, Élie, and Luigi Sturzo. _Essai d'initiation à la révolution anticapitaliste_. Gembloux: Éditions de la Terre wallonne, 1938.
Mounier, Emmanuel. Révolution personnaliste et communautaire. Collection Esprit. Paris: F. Aubier, 1935. <— CHAPITRE X: ANTICAPITALISME
Daniel Guérin uses the term in a derogatory way in _Fascism and Big Business_ (1936) to refer to the pseudo-revolutionary posturing of the
Don't know if this really helps, though. Sounds like you're really wanting to know when it got adopted as a self-definition by a kind of left formation, no?
