Hello,
A common topic among anarchists is to avoid useless debates. Here it
appears that few people on this list are willing to claim their right to
eat meat, however I am pretty sure that many more here as anywhere believe
that it's a right, even among vegans.
One reason why is perhaps that they think it does not even deserve a
debate, and I would agree with them : I am always frightened of this idea
to bring a "new mankind" purely vegan, when billions of people in the world
eat -or would like to eat- meat : it makes me think of Pol Pot or
Ceaucescu.
So, and sorry to appear as the brutal man with no care of animals (which,
BTW, is false, but no matter) : I feel useful, after some 10 posts of
antispecist propaganda here, to recall that it's both the perfect right of
anyone to be a vegan and the perfect freedom of everyone to choose what
he/she wants to eat. Anarchy may be concerned by ecology, but not by mystic
thoughts on what we should be allowed to eat or not.
