Mood Indigo shoutout
Hey, folks,
I'm preparing to present an array of photos to illustrate a preschool
curriculum. This unit is on colors, specifically the seven colors of
the rainbow, our friend Roy G. Biv. It's the I word that will be a
problem. The clients have already suggested in writing to use a
picture of irises for indigo (Concord grapes for violet, btw). I have
always understood indigo to be a dark, midnight blue, somewhat like
phthalo blue (which has a distinct red undercolor), cobalt blue, or
even Prussian blue (but not quite with the green undercolor)--i.e.,
not close to the purple/violet colors they propose. IOW, I'm thinking
Reflex Blue to PMS 300, or 541 or so, and they're thinking PMS 273.
[Aside: the photograph of grapes appears mostly bluish-gray, so I
chose grape hyacinth flowers, much more vivid.]
So, anyone want to shout out one or two PMS numbers for "indigo" blue?
I'm racking up frequent flyer miles on the internet looking at photo
sites BTW, Stock Xchange is good, has a good search feature (well
focused without too many extraneous hits), and loads quickly via DSL.
Danke
