The Graphics List

what would you miss most...?

After our little burst of activity at New Year, we seem to have sunk
back into silence. Well, mulling over the 'general doldrums' we
discussed before, I wondered if we couldn't also find some positives
about graphic design to celebrate. So, I'd like to ask you all an
open question.

"If you had to give up graphic design, what would you miss most?"

After a bit of thought, I decided this was a more interesting
question than the more obvious "what do you like most about graphic
design". Because maybe the thing we'd miss most isn't winning
pitches, or having satisfied clients, or getting our work into
annuals - but (as I once heard Lou Danziger put it) at least being
able to listen to the radio while you work. Or being able to dress
all in black. Or something equally mundane and simple but that
actually makes a huge difference to the quality of your life (when
you contemplate the prospect of having to give it up).

Anyway, I'll pitch in my 'miss most' when I've figured out what it
was, but I look forward to hearing others' first.

James
