Thanks for this - it's funny how one can use an application every day
and still miss something like this.

It's left me a bit puzzled, though. Having located the preference
'smooth text and images' in the full version of Acrobat (what used to
be called 'Exchange', but I don't know what its proper name is now),
I find it is already checked by default (this is version 4 - I
haven't yet upgraded to 5). Unchecking it makes the type go
stair-stepped (as expected), but with it checked non-type graphics
are still stair-stepped.
